Can't start online games

I don't understand and cannot find any help online

Whenever i find a game, it tells me that it's starting but then it stops and says

"THIS GAME COULD NOT BE STARTED. REFER TO THE ONLINE FAQ OR 2K SPORTS WEB SITE FOR INFORMATION ON THIS TOPIC"

someone help? Are there certain ports i have to setup to my modem/router or something?

The FAQ on the online desk is empty.. but...
I'll tell you whats wrong.

Either your PING or your opponents PING is too low...

PING = connection

It always says i have good connection but everybody elses ping is all red. i think i managed to forward ports so it works now. i hope lol
