It's a glitch that's been in the game since 2K8...

can't be fixed.

It can be fixed. just go to your sliders and turn the layup sucess to 60 for both user and CPU or you can download the HD realistic roster its fixed there

Even if you move up the sliders you will still miss some easy/open layups...

It depends on how you lay-up...

Try Tapping down the right-analog stick...

ikno but it decreases the amount of missed layup by a lot. it works for me.
