Has anyone played NBA Live 09?

If you have... how is the game like?

Please compare it with NBA 2K9 for us.

Well I wanted to play live again coz the last game I played was 2004. Anyway I think my cousin has one if I can borrow it I may try to post some impressions but that's until next week I think. But I read from IGN that its still the same as last year and no improvements at all.

So it's pretty much like NBA 2K8 to 2K9?

I have played all the Live games since 02 but only started the 2K series last year. All the Live 09 really has for the PS2 is updated rosters, For example, Pau Gasol now in Lakers and stuff like that but the thing that REALLY PISSES ME OFF is the fact that they didn't update the ratings ( BYNUM IS STILL RATED 71 FTW!!!) - nothing has been touched up on the boring gameplay and graphics are still bad. The 2k series has really put ( some ) effort into this game doing a bit of work to 'brush up' the gameplay

I respect 2K Sports for actually having online features for NBA 2K9 and actually updating menu atleast and player ratings and rosters.
But I disrespect them for not updating the Seattle Supersonics to OKC Thunder which EA Sports did.

EA Sports does not have any online features.
One thing that NBA Live series have over the NBA 2K series is commentating.
Commentating needs a lot of touching up on NBA 2K.
Also.. NBA Live 09 actually has missing players like the rookies and the free agents.

NBA Live might sound better in commentating but it is bland and boring between quarters- they don't evaluate the performances, there's no half-time report and you have to find out the player of the game yourself at the end. NBA Live 09 kinda felt as if they took Live 08, updated the rosters and then said '' OK, we're done'' then go off to work on the PS3 version.

... Commentating hasn't been updated since last years game?

I have NBA Live 08 but I thought that it was utter garbage and that EA Sports had to make a huge improvement on this years title of NBA Live.
Is it still the same old commentators and commentating?

NBA 2K9's rosters are based on July 14.In that day,the team was still Sonics.

^Yeah but it was still a lazy part for 2K not to change the Team Name even without the logo like Live did. I mean it was supposed to be the new season and Sonics are History. Also I'll add points for Live coz they have some of the missing players.

I only played NBA live '09 in PSP and because of those dunk coontest and others... but other than that *thumbs down*. The faces was not like in the reality... no signature shot.

Is the coaches, and referees are nowhere to be seen here in Live '09 in PS2???

In PSP, I can't see them... It made the game bad.

For what? the PlayStation 2 or PSP?

ps2 is exceptional. 4/5 for ps2. but for psp is out of the question. PSP does not even have enough RAM to run something like ps2 games.

NBA Live for PS2 = Garbage

I mean come on... NBA Live 08 had 0 online roster updates.
The game was appalling. Graphics and gameplay was bad.

But audio is still better in than 2K9 I think.

The NBA 2k9 will be truly awesome, if the commentating of Live 09 will be their

EA ans 2k9 need to start working together. that way there can be the awesomest game out there in the market. believe me.

I THINK NBA 2005 IS STILL THE BEST BASKETBALL SIM..from 06 to 09 is a total garbage esp. gameplay..it sucks.. like in 07,, cpu has no auto subs.what a mess.. but as for now ill stick with 2k9 coz of updated rosters

^Live 09 also don't have auto-sub in CPU and even you...

Yup, 2oo5 is the best... that's the last NBA live series I bought...

What do you mean? there is auto subs in 07. Check your sliders for User Substitution Frequency and turn it up to 50 (default EA slider)

its not working for the cpu..if they will not be in foul trouble,,they will play the whole 48 min..i have also read in a site that cou in 07 really dont have auto subs..
